There's only one thing we know for sure and it's that Trump will repeatedly lie and refuse to back down even if the moderators show video proving it. I guarantee you Trump is going to say that in health insurance policy he is going to protect patients with pre-existing conditions and Biden will end those protections in contravention to reality. Biden may even say that Trump is lying but Trump will continue to repeat the lie. In that case how meaningful is a debate? There is a lot in the way we do national elections which is useless and even damaging but we stick with the status quo so that we don't slip into chaos and end up with empty rituals instead.
