In this evening's SNL Classic, John Hurt played the Hare in an Alice in Wonderland themed sketch. As is custom, he was thanked at the end. But he was also in the opening credits, listed before the host and after mention of that night's Smigel cartoon. I haven't been able to find out what warranted this special treatment, and I can't remember it happening. I suspect there were similar mentions in the SNL opening during the earliest seasons, but I can't be sure. Anyone have any insights here? David
