Heaton baffles me. My mentor (an Emmy-nominated director) is about as liberal as I can imagine, but she and Heaton are very friendly, worked together (very well) on "The Middle," and are trying to put a new project together. I guess her "outrage" (real? convenient?) is directed where she feels it'll make the most noise. (Conversely, it could be as simple as the quality of the work overcoming the political differences.)
