Mavis Leno was among the first high-profile people to speak out against the oppressive Taliban regime in Afghanistan. She was a lifelong crusader of women’s rights at home and abroad.
I have no way of disproving Jay Leno’s claims that he is personally caring for his wife, but he still maintains a healthy tour schedule, which means either he’s shuttling Mavis from town to town (which would not be healthy for someone with dementia), or he’s frequently leaving her in the care of others. Caring for loved ones in need is difficult, regardless of wealth or fame. Credit to Jay for whatever he is doing to support her, but if he does have a team of people supporting him to support her, which is likely, then he missed an opportunity to name them and thank them. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna202795 Kevin M.
