Yeah, it’s sad all around. I’ve been following this story as it developed today -At first, it seemed like maybe Sanchez had been the victim of some drunk fans or something, But now it seems like he was more of the instigator.
I followed his career in college pretty closely, and then of course into the NFL where he was a disappointment on the way had some bright spots, but he Under performed. And then he invented himself as a colored commentator I agree he’s not one of the best, but his name still meant something to Fox and frankly there are worse commentators and Mark Sanchez is working right now. As you say all, I only had a pretty soft landing and a sweet deal at least from the outside. He did play a sport known for its high risk of head injury and risk for impulsive, violent self-destructive behavior so who knows. There are enough mediocre former players with recognizable names would love to take his place, so it does seem unlikely that his future will include working NFL games, hopefully he’ll be able to get his life together.
