Appreciate the responses,

There are a series of test weather data transmissions being run on
amc-3 (I believe the frequency is 11707 or 11716 MHZ). I do believe
the Broadlogic board is working now. The reason I wanted to use the
DirecTV signal was that I am a subscriber to it and thought the signal
might be usable to verify that the card works. Last weekend I did
connect the LNB output to the Broadlogic card and I saw a 78% signal
level but the ProgBVD software came up with an error message and did
not launch properly. I suspect it's because it needs an unencoded
signal to lock to. I was a bit impatient to test the card without the
correct satellite signal, not having installed the new dish and linear
LNB yet. See :

Thanks again,

Tom

one of the cards but I can tell you that the Diect TV signal can't be
used to test the card. It isn't a DVB compliant signal. It was
developed before the DVB standards were developed. Hughes based their
system on the CLI "Magnitude" line of encoders with some special
programming for the conditional access.

Lyngsat.com there is no NOAA feed listed. I also can't find any NOAA
signal listed on their web site. Whatever signal you want, the
important part is that it is necessary to have to have the right
satellite, polarity, frequency, symbol rate and all the rest to decode
your signal. Just being a little off any of these parameters will get
you a blank screen.
