My latitude is 39.1 degrees N and my longitude is 77.6 degrees W. My
declination is 10 degrees W.

I checked with a post level and a bullseye level, and the mast is
plumb. I have ordered a sturdier mast and I will remount it once it
gets here.

The motor elevation setting is at 39 degrees; it is midway between the
38 and 40 degree marks. Based on the photo, I see that we are at
about the same latitude.

My dish mount elevation setting is 45 degrees; initially, I set it at
40 degrees, but I found that 45 degrees gets the best signal.

My setup is similar to yours, but with one difference. The mount may
be a problem, because I was sent the U bolt mount for the dish and not
the pole mount. I suspect that this is the cause of the problem
because it is not clear if the dish is exactly lined up on the motor arm.

Since I am at 77 degrees W, I used AMC 5 at 79 degrees W. Since the
Orasat 5.0 and the Satcontrol SM3D22 motor support USALS, I am using
that. However, I would expect the motor to turn 2 degrees when the
receiver is set to AMC, since 79 - 77 = 2, but the motor reads 10
degrees when USALS points it.

Thanks for your help. Once the larger mast and other bracket get
here, I'll remount it.
