first you have to know if your lnb"s will do digital signals,I assume that a
20yr old system has had the lnb"s replaced and hopefully recently with lnbs
that will accept digital. To keep your analog you won't be able to switch to
an lnbf(they are digital only)
Ok here is one way you can do this, there are others.
1.take the output cables from the lnb"s and put them into a switch or other
combining device that gives you two inputs and one output.
2. take that output and send it to a splitter that has one input and two
outputs.
3.take one output and put it to your fta receiver and take the other output
and put it to your analog receiver.
4.take the outputs from these receivers and put them to different inputs to
your tv set.(so if you want to watch analog you put your tv on input one and
digital will go on input two or vice versa)
5.now you will have to control the polarity with your analog servo motor
whether you are watching analog or digital.
6.to watch analog you shut off the digital receiver, but to watch digital you
need the analog on to get to the satellite and adjust the polarity and than
you can shut it off but if you change channels from a vertical sig to a
horiz one you might have to adjust your polarity.I leave both receivers on
for digital.
PS now if you change to an lnbf the digital receiver will control the
polarity with either a signal or voltage and you would use the Diseqc switch
for this.
The outputs from the receivers to the tv,one will use the IF cable and
the other will probably use the audio left and right and also the video
cable.
I'm sure someone will give you more ways and improve on this way but
this is the way I hooked mine up about 4 yrs ago and it works for me.
When you set up your digital receiver you will set up to whatever
satellite you want to watch and they will be designated as either a Ku/C
band satellite and the receiver will automatically use that lnb.
wish you luck, there are sites that tell you about this.try to google it
