The LNB or LNBF has nothing to do with analog or digital in principle.
There are circular and linear polarized LNB's with most North American FTA
signals being linear and then circular ones for DBS satellites like Dishnet
and DTV. Most of these signals today are in fact digital and some kind of
MPEG encoding. The "Decoding" is in the receiver and not the LNB.
The term "digital quality" is more of an advertising buzz word since most
LNB's will do fine with either analog or digital. The confusion may be that
weaker, slower SR (basically rate of data stream) signals require a better,
and of course, more expensive LNBF but unless you are looking for these
types of signals, and you can check SR on Lyngsat, then a standard and
relatively inexpensive will do fine. Of course you do need to select the
frequency range whether C Band, Ku Band, or Ku in the DBS range.
