What I meant was, the old receiver will handle the analog C-band signals. All other signals will be digital ( both C and KU ) and will be handled by the digital receiver. I'm not sure if they will phase out all analog in 2008. If they do, then the older receiver will no longer be needed. It will make transitioning easier if you have the digital receiver already in place. The 018 VCII module, if it has the test chip, will receive some audio, but most of the VC2 is now VC2+ and does not have audio for the older VC2 modules. HBO switched 4 or 5 years ago. www.lyngsat.com has a good listing on sats and signals and types. Check them out. Spend a few hours making up a spread sheet for analog signals, which sat, transponder, V/H, clear or scambled This will help when you align the dish. That's what I did.
