My system works great w/o any line amps.
I do have quality LNB's, with the KU being a Norsat 4506A.

I have a pair of Quad Shield RG-6 cables each 225' long in a 1.25" PVC
conduit in the ground running to my 10' dish out in my pasture. Additionnaly,
there is another 30' of Quad Shield RG-6 cables inside the house. The Quad
Shield RG-6 was purchased as a 500' spool from eBay.

I purchased some end-of- spool cables off eBay for the polorizer and jack.
They were similar to this, except they were stranded and had a bare drain wire.
If you look for several weeks, something will usually come up.

I made sure the polorizer and jack cables were in individually foil shielded
pairs with a drain. And they also had a foil shield just below the jacket.

The main power cable to the jack is 16ga shielded pair with a solid ~20 ga
drain. Each have a jacket, plus these two and the bare drain/foil are enclosed
in a outer jacket.

I believe the signal cable to the polorizer and jack counter are both 18 ga
stranded pairs each with a foil shield and drain. Two of these isolated pairs
are contained in one jacket. I split them up at the dish, using one pair and
drain for the polorizer, and the other pair for the jack counter.
  Advice:
Just make sure everything is shielded.
And to use only Quad shielded RG-6. It is the best available.
Make sure the RG-6 has been swept tested to 3Mhz.
Also use long sweep 90 degree ells at the dish and house. I used 1.5" ells
adapted with bushings to my 1.25" schd. 20 PVC conduit. Use schd. 40 if you can
afford it. When I installed it, 20 was half price 40. The long sweep 90 degree
ells are only available as schd. 40 and have thick walls. Their I.D. is about
the same as the schd. 20 main run conduit. They make pulling 225' of cable
easier. Use plenty of pulling gel.

Have Fun!! Buy a DSR 922 and a DVB box, and you will be able to get almost
everything you need to watch. I don't need ESPN for MNF as there is always a
feed.

          Hello everyone,
I want to re-install my C-band system after several years in storage.
(Winegard 10' Quadstar, Houston Tracker 8+, VCII black box 018)
Eventualy would like to upgrade to 4DTV, FTA etc.
Here are my issues:
1. Dish site to receiver approx. 350ft. (no other options) What am I
going to need to do? Is the distance too far for RG6, actuator wiring,
etc....?
2. Dish site has high power electric lines nearby overhead. Will this
be a problem with interference?
3. Where can I find the best prices on needed parts, supplies, and
cable online or in the Cincinnati, Ohio area? (ie. ribbon cable, new
LNBs, 4DTV receiver, etc.)
4. Recommendations for LNB"s C and KU that are reasonably priced with
the best possible quality.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.
