You will likely need line amplifiers on C & Ku. I would insert them at about
90-100’ from the dish.
The other electronics will be slightly slower than if they were at 100-150’.
I once did one with standard cabling that was nearly 800’ with line amps,
but I needed to add capacitors to the polorizer. I would never do this
again.
What area are you in?

Subject: [TVRO] Re-install C-band system

Hello everyone,
I want to re-install my C-band system after several years in storage.
(Winegard 10' Quadstar, Houston Tracker 8+, VCII black box 018)
Eventualy would like to upgrade to 4DTV, FTA etc.
Here are my issues:
1. Dish site to receiver approx. 350ft. (no other options) What am I
going to need to do? Is the distance too far for RG6, actuator wiring,
etc....?
2. Dish site has high power electric lines nearby overhead. Will this
be a problem with interference?
3. Where can I find the best prices on needed parts, supplies, and
cable online or in the Cincinnati, Ohio area? (ie. ribbon cable, new
LNBs, 4DTV receiver, etc.)
4. Recommendations for LNB"s C and KU that are reasonably priced with
the best possible quality.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.
