Hi all: One of the FreeBSD machine that I use has a strange problem.
The system starts up "quiet" after I login in KDE environment. After about 15-20 minutes when I would have used couple of apps typically - Friefox, Konqueror and KGet , the fan would really start blowing very loudly. This would go on for about an hour or so, and then the fan would return to normal. This cycle repeats itself through out the day. The room temperature is maintained at an ambient 22 degrees Celsius with air conditioning. I have two identical FreeBSD machines (intel P4 hardware, 512G RAM, 80G HDD) with both running FreeBSD 6.2-RC1. Has anybody faced this ? What could be the reason ? Is there a work around ?
