Hi,

I am new to Linux and I am having a problem managing my documents.
I'll explain my problem with two cases. I am using Debian 4.0 Etch.

(1) I want to write my resume in one particular format, say .doc, .odf
or any other better format you can suggest. When I want to apply for
jobs, I should be quickly able to convert them into any format I
desire, like .DOC, .PDF, etc. What should I use and how can I do it?

(2) I want to write presentations again in one particular format but I
should be able to export it as .PDF or other popular presentation
formats whenever I wish. How can this be done?

I have a couple of other questions too.

(3) Is there any advantage of disadvantage of saving files in ODF
format instead of DOC, etc.?

(4) When I tried to search the answers to my questions, I also came to
know about Latex, etc. How useful is it? Do you use it?

(5) How do you usually manage your documents and presentations?

I would greatly appreciate any help from the Group.
