Thanks for your reply. Your answer sort of answers the first two questions.
(1) I want to write my resume in one particular format, say .doc, .odf or any other better format you can suggest. When I want to apply for jobs, I should be quickly able to convert them into any format I desire, like .DOC, .PDF, etc. What should I use and how can I do it? (2) I want to write presentations again in one particular format but I should be able to export it as .PDF or other popular presentation formats whenever I wish. How can this be done? Now could anyone please reply the remaining questions which are: (3) Is there any advantage or disadvantage of saving files in ODF format instead of DOC, etc.? (4) When I tried to search the answers to my questions, I also came to know about Latex, etc. How useful is it? Do you use it? (5) How do you usually manage your documents and presentations? --- In [email protected], "Sumit Upadhyay" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi, > > Answer to all your Questions is Open Office. > Open Office allows you to export your documents & presentations in the > most of the available formats. > Its easy to convert from one format to another in Open Office just choose Save As & choose the type of format you want & save it. > Open Office comes Pre installed in Most of the Linux Destros I dont > know about Debian 4.0 Etch if you don't have Open Office then > Download & install it(http://www.openoffice.org/). > > Hope this helps. > > Sumit > > > > --- In [email protected], "fook24m" <fook24m@> wrote: > > > > Hi, > > > > I am new to Linux and I am having a problem managing my documents. > > I'll explain my problem with two cases.
