window does detect the hdd in the hardware manager window, but it is not showing its content. it is just showing the hdd is present, and a yellow "!" sign beside it. and it is showing that it is a dynamic disk. thats it for windows. it is not even showing the drive icon in my computer. that hdd has two volumes. when i open it in linux, one volume, which was not open during the power failure, is showing fine with all its contents but ubuntu cannot mount the other volume, it is showing that either harware failure or softraid/fakeraid type something, i cant tell you the exact thing right now, i will tell you tomorrow. in the meantime, it would be great if you can help me. linux is suggesting to do "chkdsk /f" in windows, but when i am trying it, the command prompt tells that the drive cannot be locked, it is being used by othe program.
