Yup! It means that a package with that name and version is installed
already.
Hmm...Can you try finding if 2 depedencies that you were having problems
with are installed or not.
I don't exactly remember the command, as I'm an Ubuntu user, was something
like - *$rpm -ql openssl-0.9.8g-47.1*
This should give you a list of the files that the package contains (Which
means, if installed, by all probabilites these files would have got
installed) Check if the 2 files that you want are here.
Alternatively, look out for the files usign the *locate *command.
*$locate <dep name> **{perhaps you might have to do this as the root!}**
*
You should get a complete path to the file.
Now, if you are successful in all of the above, then theres some problem
with the Sify RPM and perhaps you'll have to force install the RPM. But keep
that as the last alternative.
I WON'T SUGGEST ASKING THE SIFY GUYS ABOUT IT AS I ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS IN
GETTING SUPPORT WHILE I WAS IN INDIA.
I remember while as a Sify user back in India, I had some tarball and a self
installing script that they'd given me then. I don't know if they still have
it.
