I took my pattern from "Card Weaving" by Candace Crockett- Sample Band A on
page 33 of her book. I wanted to try something simple since I'm new to card
weaving. I have a weaving study group that meets at my home once a month.
This month I said that I wanted to try to do card weaving on an inkle loom
since most of the members tie one end of their warp to their waist and the
other end to something else. It was so easy and I am looking forward to
showing them my method. I am using a Schacht inkle loom. I removed the "B"
peg from the loom so I would have room for the cards. I wound my warp on a
warping board and cut each warp end 2 1/2 yards long. I took the first 2 1/2
yard warp end and starting at the front of the loom, threaded it though hole
"A" and around the loom the way I wanted it to be and back to the front of the
loom. I then tied these two ends together so I would be able to move the warp
around the loom. I repeated this process for the rest of the warp ends
according to the colors that I selected. Each warp end had to go through the
proper holes according to the pattern.
I hope my explanation is clear. If anyone has question please let me know.
