Hi again, If you are really turning clockwise once, passing the weft, thencounterclockwise once, passing the weft, you _will_ get messy edges. Try turning one direction four or more times, passing the weft after each, then the other direction the same number of times.
Eight is a perfectly good number of cards to try it out with.
