After Canada's introduction, I thought I'd do the same :)
My name is Sarah Paine, and I used to be a member of Regia Angolorum about
20 odd years ago. I learned some simple tablet weaving back then and when I
stopped doing re-enactment, stopped weaving too.
Anyway, in a recent house move I rediscovered my inkle loom, and decided to
give it another shot! I bought Peter Collingwoods book and have taught
myself double faced weaving. I've just done a length of braid based on an
american indian design that I created myself for a friend who is doing some
roleplaying next year.
I'm also looking at creating some "friendship" type bracelets for the local
childcare group.
I'm enjoying the challenge of rediscovering a fun hobby!
Oh, and I *highly* recommend a great piece of software called "Guntram's
Tabletweaving Thingy" which is brilliant for helping generate patterns and
lets you check out your own designs before weaving them.
