Separately, the Town of Golden has a Council Meeting next Tuesday afternoon, 18 August, while Columbia-Shuswap Regional District (which has used Alberta time in its Electoral Area A) has a Board Meeting on Thursday morning, 20 August. It is as yet unknown whether either will formally take up a resolution on timekeeping at those meeting. In theory, either could choose differently than RDEK — the full breakdown of survey results buried in agenda attachments did show a somewhat higher proportion of support for MST/UTC−7 there than most of the other areas surveyed — but divergence seems unlikely given the relative populations (~7,200 for CSRD A and Golden combined, ~66,000 for RDEK). We can always revisit if it turns out to be needed and, meanwhile, potential workarounds abound. > The full story link seems to be broken, but no need for America/Cranbrook. > At this point, as this is fairly certainly a no-op for tzdata then, there is no rush here. I've drafted most of a commentary cleanup so far, but I think I'll wait a bit to commit it until we see that either the full press release link is fixed or the minutes of Friday's RDEK board meeting are published. -- Tim Parenti
