Hi Robert -- I'll cross post this to u2-community and take the rest of the discussion there. I use PICK as a counter-example while I try to figure out what the attraction to SQL-DBMS's is from a theory perspective. I like mathematics, but not the misapplication of it. I'm learning what is solid and what is not related to relational theory and its application. Where do the adherents agree and disagree? It might sound like advocacy to mention MV/PICK and perhaps at times it is, but I primarily use it as a counter-example related to the usefulness of applying relational theory to databases. In doing so, I am learning what is core to relational theory and what is not and why. I have no intent of being a missionary in that forum.
