Also check  the solaris configurable parameters.
For example isn't there a  limit on  per process memory
( MAXUMEM ? ) .  Has it been changed in the upgrade ?
Remember all  tunables have a default value that may
change between releases  so You're not safe even if You copy
the /etc/System file.
