In that case, are you and Patti coming in over a vpn? I guess not.

The other possibility is that John doesn't have a network, so the IP he's using is the one his computer is actually using. I know my ISP allocates valid IPs to clients.

But vpn firewalls do funny things. I couldn't post to this list from my previous job because the listserver didn't see our internet IP address, it saw our mail-server's internal IP address, and rejected it because our server was on its lan ... I never got to the bottom of that ...
