Craig,

The behaviour you describe is related to WebSphere MQ, not the U2AMI
interface.
This interface is purely programmatic with the AMI library and is totally
passive, meaning that "U2" doesn't handle any timeouts nor any active part
of the queue messaging mechanisms, that entirely rely on the WebSphere MQ
product.
