David,

I can restore your .vtf to mvBase and then convert selected accounts to Universe if you wish.

Because the C option is used to create a backup that will be restored onto an R83 (or equivalent) system, which has several limitations, the following caveats are:

1. Items larger than approx. 32K were not saved unless they were first separated into smaller items and saved as smaller items.

2. DC type items were either list items or binary items. Binary items were saved as CC pointers. All others were saved as CL items.

3. Linked binary items were not saved .

So, there is no guarantee that the restored data will match up exactly with the original data as it existed on mvBase.

What medium do you want the Universe account(s) delivered on?

If someone has a proggie that will import a VTF into Universe then use it.
If not, I'll offer assistance, depending on whether this is a quick
operation or something that's going to take an hour or more. I have all the resources required. A VTF comes from mvBASE, not D3, though perhaps you're more generically referring to a D3 pseudo floppy which usually has
    a
.d3p extension. If this is a D3 account then I'll restore and then export
whatever you want into the local file system. From there you can write
something to import whatever you need back into Universe.
