There were a variety of responses, but perhaps if I was more accurate in my post, the focus would have narrowed. I know that RELEASE should be used (I do read these lists!) and I certainly did not intend to suggest that I wanted to increase the table size to prevent this from occurring in the future. Right after I got the system back I sat down with the programmers to discuss what happened. It took about two minutes to get down to the commented out WRITEs. During the discussion with the programmers, the question was posed: 'What's the size of the table?' I didn't know so I put my hand up and went to the list.
