Ray,
RF Bar Code scanners come in many forms, and all are used in the Pick
community for various purposes.
In the category of hand-held bar code scanners with an 802.11 radio, we
recommend the Intermec products.
The question really is, however, do you want a hand-held scanner?
Hand-held scanners are limited in several ways:
1. Their display screen is much smalle than a laptop display,
limiting the amount of information that you can display..
2. Even with a 47-key attached keyboard, entering data is not nearly
as easy as using a normal keyboard.
3. Their batteries do die when not recharged properly and the
resident software has to be reinstalled.
In selecting a solution, may I suggest that you more clearly describe the
functionality that you need to provide at the scanner and then members of
the list can describe the products they use in your particular
circumstances.
Rgds,
Dave
