I imagine unplugging/plugging the connectors multiple times will wear out the surface, especially on cheap connectors. I used to use the dielectric grease but stopped after comparing connectors that were installed for years and noticed they we just a good as the "greased" ones. This holds true for both my WISPs in Kentucky or Florida. As they say "YMMV"!
