Hi James, try downloading the latest update which is 0.22 from the voxin
site. However, I built up the voxin using the gnome-speech-0.4.25
sources. for installing speech-dispatcher issue the following command in
the terminal:
sudo apt-get install speech-dispatcher python-speechd
after installation use spd-conf for configuring speech-dispatcher.
choose the default options except for the port which has to be 6560.
with the latest update of voxin the appropriate driver for
speech-dispatcher will be installed. remove the number sign before the
ibmtts in the file /home/yourName/.speech-dispatcher/conf/speechd.conf.
restart speech-dispatcher. you can add speech-dispatcher in the start up
under preferences so that it starts automatically.
Thanks,
Aruni.
