I agree with sixforty - some kind of null pointer protection which is enabled by default (since Hardy?) spoils dosemu (and maybe wine?) vm86 mmap handling, but all of the workarounds given for the bug #216398 indeed fix it :-). Either dosemu should automatically give the user instructions, for example show the URL of a page about the workarounds... or Ubuntu could disable that mmap null pointer protection while dosemu is running or even as soon as you install dosemu...? I hope we use up to date FreeDOS? :-)
PS: Random unrelated Hardy experiences: Updates exec stuff in /tmp should use /var/lib/... to allow noexec /tmp. Nvidia 3d drivers can break suspend or hibernate. Sometimes resume reboots; has i8042 warning. SSHD default allows all users, incl root, bad. Pulseaudio hogs devices. -- xdosemu crashes on startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
