The traceback you posted before, and I commented on showed flash, realplayer and java, along with their paths. > The reason I have all these other plugins and whatever is that I > followed the advice on the forums about installing 32bit firefox and the > plugins to get flash and other things to work. This worked fine until > edgy. I have no idea what you exactly did, and why. If you installed 3rd party repositories, chances are not bad that they cause intereference with upgrades. We cannot support upgrades from systems with 3rd party repositories enabled, that's why I rejected this bug. Sorry. > Is the ~/.mozilla/pluginreg.dat file of any use? Otherwise I cannot give you exact instructions how to uninstall because I have no idea what you have exactly done. Therefore I can only say that reinstalling is a safe choice. > Again, thanks for all this help, and sorry to not be able to do it on my > own... Hey, we all have learned it the one way or the other ;) sorry for the trouble you are experiencing. We are currently working very hard on improving upgrades with 3rd party packages enabled, but you understand that this is a very hard task and needs much user feedback. Moreover we try to improve the multimedia experience in ubuntu. You could help us by filing and triaging bugs, and encourage upstream developers to actually work on them! -- Gruesse/greetings, Reinhard Tartler, KeyID 945348A4 -- upgraded to edgy: mplayer doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/73173 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
