I do not see how this could help since it seems that there is an interaction between the daemon and Gnome Screen Resolution which recreates monitor.xml as below. I would be nice to be able to disable the NVIDIA driver under 'hardware drivers' but that doesn't work - after disabling 'allegedly' the NVIDIA driver is still in use - xorg.conf still shows 'nvidia' > <monitors version="1"> > − > <configuration> > <clone>no</clone> > − > <output name="default"> > <vendor>???</vendor> > <product>0x0000</product> > <serial>0x00000000</serial> > <width>1024</width> > <height>768</height> > <rate>55</rate> > <x>0</x> > <y>0</y> > <rotation>normal</rotation> > <reflect_x>no</reflect_x> > <reflect_y>no</reflect_y> > </output> > </configuration> > </monitors> -- gnome-settings-daemon conflict with Nvidia Xserver settings in 8.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/300287 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
