If this is the case, then the following apps which are defaults (I think?)
should work:
- totem
- rhythmbox
but Rob says at least that totem is playing through the server sound card.
Perhaps I'm wrong, in which case, what are the supported sound apps?
Rob: can you try totem again and say for sure if it plays through the server.
Can you try first from the applications menu and then from the command line.
Before trying from the command line, type the command:
echo $ESPEAKER
and let us know the output of the above command and in which cases it plays
through the server, the client or not at all.
If we focus on one application first, maybe that'll help indicate the
cause of problems elsewhere.
