Attaching a log including several full cycles of plugging in, removing, and plugging back in. Surprisingly, for the first time since I started having this difficulty, I was able to go through the cycle more than one before the failure occurred. The attached log represents these events:
20084 - plugged the monitor's USB cable in to a USB port on the motherboard. A usb mass storage device was plugged into the monitor at the time. 20426 - unplugged the usb mass storage device 20430 - plugged the usb mass storage device back in 20439 - unplugged the usb mass storage device (apparently a little too soon, as some usb mass storage specific errors follow this event in the log file) 20444 - plugged the device back in 20484 - unplugged the device A few seconds after unplugging the device at 20484 I plugged it in again, but no new lines appeared in dmesg output for that event. Several further plug/unplug cycles also added no further lines. ** Attachment added: "plug-unplug-cycle.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/23014781/plug-unplug-cycle.txt -- usb hub disappears after one use https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332643 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
