Thanks for attaching those, I'm attaching the diffs for convenience.

It sounds to me like the USB hub may not be receiving enough power and
is getting disabled because of it.  When you ran the USB cable to the
monitor's USB hub, is the other end plugged into a separate USB hub that
is its own external device (i.e. not built into the motherboard or not a
PCI card)?

Have you tried plugging that cable into different USB ports on the computer?
Is the device you are plugging in self powered or is it drawing all its
power from the USB cable?  It looks like a storage device, so would it
be a flash drive, 2.5" external, or 3.5" external, or something else
like an ipod?
