Did the machine break while going to sleep or waking up? Waking up--it
will go to sleep, the power light will flash steadily about once per
second, like it does when it is asleep in XP. When woken up, it will go
to a black screen and stay there, power light is a steady on and none of
the buttons are responsive. Caps lock is not flashing.

Is it reproducible? Yes, 10 of 10 times.

Did it work before? I have only used Intrepid (final release) and Jaunty
Alpha 6 and it did not work with either.

Do you end up with flashing caps-lock or similar? No, no lights flash at
all.

Other information: battery did not run out and, as far as I can tell, no
messages came up.
Attached are dmesg, /proc/cmdline and /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume
