When suspending from text mode, screen displays a blinking _ character in the upper left of the screen, which stays for 3-4 seconds. The screen then turns off and it enters sleep mode. When it turns back on, the harddrive light flashes for a second then stops and it sits there with a black screen and there is no sign of life, just like when I try to resume after suspending in gnome.
