I also have problems with some of my DVDs. Either VLC stops on the Warning and not continuing, or when pressing Play in the Root Menu of some DVDs (that worked before) it "crashes" and some DVDs it won't play without crashing. When I say crashing VLC doesn't segfault, but the window with the movie closes.
Btw why do one need to have two vlc windows when playing a movie? Before the movie could be included in the VLC window. Annoying to use cvlc as it doesn't have a mouse menu. -- vlc does not play commercial dvd after upgrade from Hardy Heron to Intrepid Ibex. It plays about 10 minutes and then crashes.
