zwaldowski, the upstreem test you mentioned doesn't need the new kernel. The new kernel AFAIK is for telneting into a frozen box. You will need wmctrl installed for this to work (sudo apt-get install wmctrl). Download Matt's repro.sh and try. http://launchpadlibrarian.net/25683477/repro.sh It froze my laptop as described. For me, opening 3 or more windows AT THE SAME time freezes everything but the mouse. I realized this first time I restarted Firefox with 4 windows opened, your comment about Firefox 3.5 just triggered my memory. So to reproduce, either open 3 or more firefox windows, and restart firefox. Or use the script.
