Sounds, good. You are now in the same situation I was several days before. I don't know exactly what I did to fix it. I was trying to reduce power consumption on my laptop when it got fixed. Trying to reproduce and find the cure, I decided to reinstall, so I formated and installed 9.04 again. Since then I didn't have another crash and I'm trying to get my computer back to your situation to found that also compiz blacklisted my card. editing /usr/bin/compiz and removing the blacklist line solved it. also you could run with a terminal: SKIP_CHECK=yes compiz & I can remember also, that sysrq was not functioning either. something I fixed by doing -> /etx/X11/xorg.conf
Section "ServerFlags" Option "DontZap" "False" EndSection Try that and use Alt-Fn-Del+k, then ctrl-alt-F1 to get to the console. I got mine out of the freeze but unable to start X again. I'm rebooting to try to find the root cause of this (or at least for it to hang again). -- [i965 X3100] X freezes/crashes randomly, only mouse pointer still functional https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/345119 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
