I had a look at your .xsessionerrors file, and according to it, the panel / window manager fail to launch on session opening because there would already be another running. I really don't know how this kind of bug can occur, but thanks for the feedback, this should help to identify the problem.
Could you also please give us the output of the command "ls .config/autostart", just incase ? -- After installing, there is no desktop.
