I have checked with Windows XP and KDE and neither have this issue; when
right clicking, nothing is automatically highlighted and ready for
selection. So I believe this to be a gnome specific issue which does
not provide any benefit to the end user, but can be an annoyance. It is
wrong to assume that everyone would be using brand new input devices.

The right-click menu automatically highlights an item (e.g. 'create folder'),
which can lead to selecting the wrong item by mistake.
