It seems that the problem is related to the way ubuntu is handling the open/close button on the AcerTimeline. If I use this button to open the drive, then the media is not mounted or not mounted properly. However,
Recently (a week or so ago) I noticed in the upgrade list, a number of glstreamer files. After that upgrade I have been able to play dvd's and audio files with no problems. I had posted this on the Ubuntu forums HOWEVER, I was also given another fix to avoid using the open/close button for the dvdrom drive. Instead, on the terminal I type the command "eject cdrom". 2009/8/27 Pedro Villavicencio <[email protected]> > Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu > better.
