Sorry I'm not having much luck today! :-( I just tried installing linux-image-2.6.31-020631-generic_2.6.31-020631_i386.deb but it failed for some reason so I can't tell you if the modem works with the latest kernel or not. Still can't get in with apport-collect - sooner or later it has got to accept I logged off
