Thanks Dimas, the solution was in the same forum, which was updated two days ago, probably for the same reason. All you need is to compile the kernel with the MadWIFI controllers again (starting on step 8). It works o.k. agian for me. I also use an Acer laptop 64 bit distro, which uses an AR242 Atheros card, I believe. ¿Do you want me to search if ath5k is blacklisted or do you think the file was modified?
