Eigenman, I have now switched to the fglrx driver, and to my surprise
the suspend / hibernate / resume functions are working well, including
the ability to switch virtual terms. Please be aware that the lshal has
printed while using the fglrx driver.

If you have a suggestion on how to edit the 99-video-quirk-default.fdi
file, when time allows I will switch back to radeon to test.
