Thank you very much for sharing your insights. I think I can confirm the multiple-tuner bug but was not yet able to fix the initial issue.
My dmesg with a 2.6.28 kernel looks like the following (i stripped some parts) dmesg 2.6.28 : [ 37.984302] tuner' 1-0043: chip found @ 0x86 (saa7134[0]) [ 38.106882] tda9887 1-0043: creating new instance [ 38.106889] tda9887 1-0043: tda988[5/6/7] found [ 38.308031] All bytes are equal. It is not a TEA5767 [ 38.308299] tuner' 1-0060: chip found @ 0xc0 (saa7134[0]) [ 38.316041] tuner' 1-0061: chip found @ 0xc2 (saa7134[0]) [ 38.572073] tuner-simple 1-0060: creating new instance [ 38.572080] tuner-simple 1-0060: type set to 66 (LG TALN series) [ 38.596755] saa7134[0]: registered device video0 [v4l2] [ 38.597216] saa7134[0]: registered device vbi0 [ 38.597556] saa7134[0]: registered device radio0 Following your instructions, I changed /etc/modprobe.d/saa7134.conf to: /etc/modprobe.d/saa7134.conf: options saa7134 card=64 tuner=66 options tuner addr=0x60 no_autodetect=66 and became following dmesg output: dmesg 2.6.31: [ 12.848164] tuner 1-0043: chip found @ 0x86 (saa7134[0]) [ 13.058827] tuner-simple 1-0043: creating new instance [ 13.058834] tuner-simple 1-0043: type set to 66 (LG TALN series) [ 13.084463] saa7134[0]: registered device video0 [v4l2] [ 13.084663] saa7134[0]: registered device vbi0 [ 13.084744] saa7134[0]: registered device radio0 Still, tv does not work as expected (and i am somewhat missing 2 tuners). I am a bit confused, because of the 1-0043 address, as i tried to force 1-0060 with the saa7134.conf iiuc. Note, however that also with 2.6.28 my hardware did not work 100% (it did before, unfortunately i do not know which kernel etc that was), as it is lacking sound. Now, i get only a black screen/noise. BEFORE I added the tuner options to saa7134.conf I was able to see (but not change) the channel that I had previously set when booting the old and soundless 2.6.28 kernel. Thanks again for your efforts and good-luck-wishes ;) -- felix -- saa7134 tuner card does not work with kernel 2.6.31 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/481449 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
