Thanks devport.
Unfortunately, with the options added, I am - like before - in an XOR situation:
With 2.6.28 I can change channels but no sound.
With 2.6.31 I can watch the channel previously selected (when booted the
2.6.28) with sound, but cannot change the channel.
Sound apparently works by saa7134_alsa, btw. The module doesnt get loaded with
2.6.28.
Somehow fixing the sound for the "old" kernel would feel weird. I would like to
run an up-to-date system just fine.
For testing I always use mythtv and tvtime.
With the i2c_scan option, dmesg output changed.
/etc/modprobe.d/saa7134.conf:
options saa7134 card=64 i2c_scan=1 tuner=6

The few things I understand here are:
1) Still just one "tuner" was found.
2) With new kernel there is a problem:
i2c-adapter i2c-1: Invalid 7-bit address 0x7a
I read about the second issue once but forgot what it all was about.
will do my reading.
