Adding "model=auto" to the last line of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf fixed the microphone problem for me, but now my audio output goes out to both built in speakers and headphones (when plugged in) at the same time. It does not switch between two of them when i plug in or unplug the headphones.
